On Monday, February 2, roofing workers will start tearing off the old roofing and shingles and dropping them into dump trucks parked near the building in the parking lot. This is a very messy job and shingles and roofing nails may get scattered around the parking lot. The roofers will be careful and use magnetic equipment to collect them, but please be careful. The new shingles will be delivered to the roof from a large conveyer belt truck parked in the concrete dumpster driveway. Roofing cars and trucks will routinely be in and out of the parking lot.
Each work day from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm all cars should be removed from the ten parking spaces near the building -- spaces 1-8, 10 and 11. There are not many other parking areas but you can park along Desoto Street on the gravel area in front of the building, and across the street, just not between the two "No Parking" signs. Also the 4 spaces on the far side of the parking lot are all fair game during this time. Please keep visitor parking to a minimum. Most folks are away during work hours, but if you are not leaving you may consider moving your car the evening before. Otherwise you will need to move it before 8:30 on work days. Be careful with other parked cars in tight spaces.
Also, personal items such as furniture and plants on uncovered decks and on the back grass are at risk of damage from falling debris. Please move these items inside or onto the grassy areas away from the building.
I know this will be inconvenient during this time, but a new roof every fifteen years is a good thing. Call or email me with questions or concerns.
